Boone scored the first and last touchdowns of the game; however, Indianola scored three touchdowns in between as the Indians defeated the Toreadors, 21-14, Friday, Oct. 4, in Boone.
Quarterback Jude Baumgardner had 6 carries for 44 yards, including a 35-yard run for a touchdown in the 1st quarter to start the game 7-0.
Indianola scored in the 2nd quarter to tie it up 7-7.
The Indians scored again in the 3rd quarter and early in the 4th quarter to lead 21-7.
Baumgardner also had a 1-yard keeper in the fourth quarter to bring Boone to 21-14.
Baumgardner also went 13 for 20 with 116 passing yards.
Other offensive leaders for Boone were Lucas Boucher with 18 carries for 62 yards and Maddox McIntyre with 4 carries for 16 yards.
Additionally, Dylan Bolton had 8 receptions for 76 yards, and Tyson Shivers had 2 receptions for 30 yards.
For the defense, Shivers had 8.5 tackles including 5 solo tackles and 2 tackles for loss.
Justus Frese had 5 tackles including 3 solo tackles and 1 fumble recovery.
Boucher had 2 kick returns for 33 yards, and Bolton made both PATs.
The win brings Indianola to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in district play while Boone fell to 3-3 overall and 0-2 in the district.
Boone travels to Des Moines North on Friday, Oct. 11 to take on the Polar Bears, who are 0-6 overall and 0-2 in the district.
