BOONE, Iowa—Shaw Sobolik was sworn in as the newest member of the Boone Police Department during the City Council meeting on Monday, October 7th. Sobolik will fill the last vacant position on the Boone Police Department. The Boone resident was selected following the list of candidates developed through the Civil Service process. Sobolik is currently going through departmental training and will attend the Law Enforcement Academy in January.
