The Madrid Tigers hit the road and beat Wayne, 34-8, on Friday, October 18.
The victory put the Tigers at the top of Class A, District 6, qualifying them for the playoffs.
Wayne held an 8-7 lead at the end of the first quarter, but Madrid went on to score another touchdown in the second quarter to have the score at 14-8 at the half.
Madrid took control in the 3rd quarter, scoring 3 times and winning the game, 34-8.
Although the passing was scant, Preston Wicker led Madrid in rushing with 21 carries for 196 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Will Atkinson recorded 7 carries for 24 yards and 2 touchdowns, and Easton Halverson had 18 carries for 104 yards.
Emerson Bridgewater had 9 tackles, including 8 solo tackles and 3 tackles for loss.
Bridgewater also had 3 sacks and 1 fumble recovery, while Terrin Lawrenson had 7 tackles, including 5 solo tackles and 1 tackle for loss, and 1 sack.
The win left Madrid with a 6-2 overall record and a 6-0 district record.
With winning the district, Madrid will host North Tama in the first round of Class A playoffs on Friday, October. 25.
