Boone sophomore Emma Thomas qualified for the state cross country meet for the second straight year with her 13th place finish in 19:41.20 on Wednesday, October 23, at the Iowa State University cross country course in Ames.
Thomas will run at the Class 3A State Cross County Meet at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 1, at Kennedy Park in Fort Dodge.
Also for the Toreadors, Morgan Chesnut finished 31st in 21:10.40, and Lynneah Pickering was 54th in 22:27.80.
Additionally, Bry Morgan ended 61st 23:10.10, and Poppy Malone was 70th 23:55.50.
Boys wrap up season at district meet
The Boone boys’ cross country team also competed at Ames on Wednesday.
Blake Gradoville was the first Toreador across the finish line and was 49th in 18:14.40.
Next Calvin Cook finished 50th 18:18.20, and Dorian Myers was 70th 19:31.00.
Pearson Lampe ended 74th 19:38.70, and Kam Lehman was 75th 19:41.20
Finally, Simon Enabnit placed 79th in 19:55.00, and Kyan Lehman was .81st 19:58.80.
