Jude Benbow won the Class 1A state qualifying meet, and the Ogden boys cross country team qualified for the state cross country meet on Thursday, October 24, at Holstein.
Ogden won the meet with 37 points.
Benbow was the champion in 16:50.91.
Caden Lerdal was 5th in 17:42.36, and Myles Tromblay was 7th in 17:50.38.
Rounding out the scoring for Ogden were Brady Van Sickle in 9th place in 17:52.26 and Thomas Bergstrom in 12th place in 18:16.48.
The Ogden boys will run in the Class 1A state meet at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, at Kennedy Park in Fort Dodge.
Ogden girls finish 6th at state qualifier
The Ogden girls’ cross country team placed 6th in the meet at Holestein with 159 points.
Alta-Aurelia won the meet with 49 points.
Samantha Lass was the first Bulldog across the line in 15th place in 22:41.
Addison Trusler finished 18th in 22:49.23, and McKenzie Spencer was 31st in 24:06.59.
Finally, Elyse Fisher was 51st in 27:34.00, while Ava Wohlwend ended in 69th in 31:06.31.
Teams competing on Thursday in Holstein were Odgen, Sioux Central (Sioux Rapids), Ridge View (Holstein), Alta-Aurelia, Newell-Fonda, Gehlen Catholic (Le Mars), Westwood (Sloan), West Bend-Mallard (girls), Emmetsburg (girls), Graettinger-Terril-Ruthven-Ayrshire (girls), Sibley-Ocheyedan (boys), Hartley-Melvin-Sandborn (boys), South O-Brien (Paullina) (boys), Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn-Remsen-Union (boys), and Trinity Christian (Hull) (boys)
