The Madrid girls’ cross country team were runners-up at the Class 1A State Cross Country Meet Saturday, November 2, at Fort Dodge. 

Earlham won the team title with 91 points. Madrid was 2^nd with 109 points, and Treynor was 3^rd with 172 points. 

The top 5 Tiger runners who scored team points all ran personal or season bests. 

The top Tiger finisher was Katelyn Brandhorst, who finished 4^th with a personal best of 19.01.2. 

Madelyn Grothus finished right behind in 5^th in 19.09.6, a season best. 

Hannah Brandhorst finished 13^th with a personal best of 19.28.2 

Mila Grothus was 91^st in 21.54, and Adelyn White was 95^th in 21.57.  

Both their times were season bests. 

Ari Mundy and Ashlyn Burkhardt also ran at the state meet for Madrid. 

Thomas competes in 3A race for Boone 

Emma Thomas finished 58^th in 20.13 at the Class 3A state cross country meet for Boone Friday, November 1, at Fort Dodge. 

Thomas made her second appearance at state for the Toreadors.
