DES MOINES, Iowa—The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship released the Weekly Fuel report and the price of regular unleaded gasoline fell 5 cents, averaging $2.75 across Iowa according to AAA.
Crude Oil Summary
- The price of global crude oil rose this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $.35 per barrel over last week and is currently priced at $68.87.
- Brent crude oil rose by $.70 and is currently priced at $72.91.
- One year ago, WTI crude sold for $78.10 and Brent crude was $83.25.
Motor Fuels
- As of Wednesday, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $2.75 across Iowa according to AAA.
- Prices fell 5 cents from last week’s price and are down 21 cents from a year ago.
- The national average on Wednesday was $3.07, down 1 cent from last week’s price.
- Retail diesel prices in Iowa fell 1 cent this week with a statewide average of $3.30.
- One year ago, diesel prices averaged $4.18 in Iowa.
- The current Iowa diesel price is 24 cents lower than the national average of $3.54.
- Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.
- The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $1.84 for U87-E10, $2.04 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $2.20 for ULSD#2, $2.43 for ULSD#1, and $1.83 per gallon for E-70 prices.
Heating Fuels
- Natural gas prices rose 22 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $3.20/MMbtu.
- Propane prices averaged $1.53 per gallon in Iowa.
- Home heating oil prices had a statewide average of $2.81 per gallon.
