The Boone girls basketball team took an early lead against Webster City and was able to beat the Lynx, 42-29, Friday, November 22 in Boone.
The Toreadors raced off to an 18-5 lead after the 1st quarter and led, 26-13, at the half.
The teams were fairly evenly matched in the second half as Boone ended with the 42-29 victory.
Sydney Adams led Boone with 14 points and was 5 for 15 on field goals, 3 for 10 on 3-pointers and 1 for 2 with free throws.
Macy Chesnut scored 13 points and was 5 for 14 on field goals, 2 for 9 on 3-pointers and was 1-2 with free throws.
Shannon Jenkins had 8 points and was 3 for 11 on field goals and 2 for 8 on 3-pointers.
Addie Tungesvik had 5 assists and 2 turnovers, while Ava Johnson had 1 assist and 1 turnover.
The defense was led by Adams who had 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
Maleah Shivers also had 6 rebounds, including 1 offensive rebound.
Johnson had 3 rebounds, including 1 offensive rebound, and 1 block.
The Toreadors are 1-0 this season.
Boone travels to Des Moines East 6:15 tonight and host Nevada at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26.
