The Boone girls basketball team scored a commanding 69-11 victory over Des Moines East in Des Moines on Monday, November 25.
The Toreadors led, 25-6, at the end of the first quarter and 45-8 at half time.
East did not score in the third quarter, making the score 60-8.
Boone scored another 9 points in the 4th quarter to win, 69-11.
The Toreadors were led by Sydney Adams who had 21 points on 8 field goals, 3 3-pointers and 2 free throws.
A trio of sophomores had 9 points each.
Ava Johnson had 9 points on 4 field goals and 1 free throw while Macy Chesnut had 9 points on 4 field goals and 1 3-pointer and Brooke Weisbrod had 9 points on 4 field goals and 1 free throw.
Adams had 4 assists, and Addie Tungesvik and Chesnut each had 2 assists.
For the Boone defense, the same trio of sophomores had 5 rebounds each.
Johnson had 5 rebounds and 1 block, Chesnut had 5 rebounds and 8 steals, and Weisbrod had 5 rebounds and 2 steals.
The Toreadors improve to 2-0 and host Nevada at 7:30 p.m. tonight in Boone.
