Grace Hammer finished 1st at 190 pounds for the Ogden girls wrestling team as it competed at Manson-Northwest Webster on Monday, December 2.
Sioux Central won the meet with 141 points, and Ogden placed 7th with 71.5 points.
Grace Hammer placed 1st for the Bulldogs at 190 pounds. She won by fall twice and defeated Elyzah Olson of West Central Valley in the championship match.
Rylin Casey placed 2nd for Ogden at 100 pounds. She won by technical fall before losing by major decision. Wells won by medial forfeit over Kourtney King of South Central Calhoun to take 2nd place.
Hannah Wells also placed 2nd at 155 pounds. She received a bye then won by fall. Wells lost by fall to Gracie Recker of Panorama in the championship match.
In addition, Aubrey Leonard placed 3rd at 105 pounds, Sophie Seligman placed 4th at 130 pounds, Carlie Hinderaker placed 5th at 110 pounds, Sydney King placed 5th at 115 pounds, and Glenda Moody placed 6th at 170 pounds.
Teams competing were West Central Valley (Stuart), Manson-Northwest Webster, Panorama, South Central Calhoun (Lake City), East Sac County (Lake View), Graettinger-Terril-Ruthven-Ayrshire/Estherville Lincoln Central, Sioux Central (Sioux Rapids), Pocahontas Area and Emmetsburg.
Next up for Ogden is a meet at Saydel with Ogden, Saydel, Albia and Martensdale-St. Mary’s competing on Thursday, Dec. 5.
