The Madrid girls’ basketball team cruised to another victory as it beat Southeast Valley, 60-38, on Tuesday, December 3.
The Tigers jumped out to a 16-10 lead after the 1st quarter and were up, 28-18, at the half.
Madrid ran away in the third quarter, scoring 19 points to Southeast Valley’s 2, to put the Tigers up 47-20, and ended up victorious with a 60-38 win.
The Madrid offense was paced by Lauren Dvorak who had 14 points on 7 field goals.
Laura Eagleton recorded 13 points on 5 field goals, 2 3-pointers and 1 free throw.
Samanth Springer contributed 11 points on 4 field goals, 2 3-pointers and 1 free throw.
Audrey Brown had 6 assists while Jillian Olmstead had 3, and Eagleton had 2.
The Tiger defense was led by Olmstead who had 10 rebounds and 2 steals.
Dvorak followed with 8 rebounds, 1 block and 1 steal, and Eagleton had 6 rebounds.
Madrid improved to 2-1 as Southeast Valley fell to 0-2.
Madrid opens West Central Conference play at Panorama on Friday, December 6.
