The Ogden boys’ basketball team traveled to Stuart to face West Central Valley in West Central Conference play and came away with a 60-54 victory on Friday, December 6.
The game was tied, 14-14, at the end of the 1st quarter and 26-26 at the half.
The Wildcats took the lead, 42-41, at the end of the 3rd quarter, but the Bulldogs came roaring back in the 4th quarter, scoring 19 points and winning the game, 60-54.
Brayden Miller led the Bulldogs with 22 points on 9 field goals, 3 3-pointers and 1 free throw.
Brady Van Sickle scored 16 points on 6 field goals, 3 3-pointers and 1 free throw.
Additionally, Jordan Benjamin had 8 points on 3 field goals and 2 3-pointers.
Van Sickle and Jase Coleman had 5 assists each, while Miller recorded 4 assists.
For the defense, Tanner Rohe pulled down 8 rebounds and Van Sickle added 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
Ogden boys lose close game to Perry
On Thursday, December 5, Ogden traveled to Perry and lost a close one, 66-64.
The Bluejays were up, 22-18, after the 1st quarter and 45-39 at the half.
Perry continued to increase its lead and was up by 10, 57-47, at the end of the 3rd quarter.
The Bulldogs made a comeback, scoring 17 points to Perry’s 9 in the 4th quarter.
However, it was not enough as Perry squeaked out a 66-64 victory.
For the offense, Coleman had 20 points on 8 field goals and 2 3-pointers and made both his free throws.
Van Sickle had 15 points on 6 field goals 2 3-pointers and made 1 free throw, and Miller had 15 points on 7 field goals and 1 3-pointer.
Ogden’s record is 2-1, and the Bulldogs host Interstate 35 (Truro) who is also 2-1 on Tuesday, December 10, at 7:30 p.m. in another conference game.
