The Madrid boys’ basketball team beat Woodward-Granger, 69-31, in West Central Conference play on Friday, December 13, at Woodward.
The Tigers took control of the game early and led, 18-10, after the 1st quarter and were ahead 43-13 at the half.
The score was 63-31 after the 3rd quarter, and the Tigers held the Hawks scoreless in the 4th quarter to win, 69-31.
Brody Buck led all scorers with 21 points on 8 field goals, 3 3-pointers and 2 free throws.
Fabian Ortiz-Alaniz had 14 points on 5 field goals, 3 3-pointers and 1 free throw.
Toryn Severson ended with 12 points on 6 field goals and 1 3-pointer.
Buck also recorded 7 assists while Ortiz-Alanix and Logan Klatt had 3.
Buck led the defense with 11 rebounds and 3 steals.
Jevyn Severson had 9 rebounds and 1 steal ,while Toryn Severson had 8 rebounds and 4 steals.
The win puts Madrid at 3-0 in the conference and 5-0 overall.
Woodward-Granger falls to 0-2 in the conference and 0-4 overall.
The Tigers face Van Meter (2-1, 1-1) on Tuesday, December 17, at Van Meter.
