BOONE, Iowa—Nanette “Nan” Rae Anderson, 65, of Boone, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at her home.

Cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Nan’s Life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, starting at 2:00 P.M., at the Adobe Lounge, 915 West Mamie Eisenhower Avenue, Boone.

Nanette was born July 3, 1959, in Boone, the daughter of Billy and Beverly (Richards) Neely. Nan was united in marriage to Dennis Anderson on January 6, 1979, in Boone.

For thirteen years, Nan had an in-home daycare, she then worked for the Humane Society for a number of years and retired as a vet technician from Helping Hands in 2017. She enjoyed camping, and tending to her yard.

Nan leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and friendship. She never met a stranger and if you were lucky enough to know her, you knew you had a friend for life. Nan was known for her love of animals and leaves behind a life spent devoting herself to her cherished pets and the countless pets of others.

Nan was an amazing woman and she will be greatly missed by us all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Beverly Neely.

Nan is survived by her husband of almost 46 years, Dennis Anderson; two daughters, Denie (Jason) Rew and Danyel (Tyler Livingston) Anderson; four grandchildren, Dennan, Dayne, Daxon and Drake; and her sister, Nancy (Kent) Eckley.
