The Madrid boys’ basketball team defeated Ogden in West Central Conference action, 94-35, Friday, January 3, in Madrid.
The Tigers raced off to a 34-6 lead after the 1st quarter and were up, 66-12, at the half.
Madrid continued to play well and were up 85-20 at the end of the 3rd quarter and won the game, 94-35.
Toryn Severson led the Tigers with 34 points on 10 field goals, 6 3-pointers and 8 free throws.
Brody Buck had 16 points on 5 field goals, 2 3-pointers and 4 free throws.
Jevyn Severson and Emerson Bridgewater added 13 points. Each had 6 field goals and 1 free throw.
Fabian Ortiz-Alaniz had 8 assists while Buck added 5.
For the Tiger defense, Toryn Severson had 10 rebounds, 2 blocks and 3 steals.
Emerson Bridgewater added 7 rebounds, 1 block and 6 steals, and Logan Klatt had 4 rebounds and 1 block.
For Ogden, Thomas Bergstrom led the way with 11 points on 4 field goals and 3 3-pointers.
Kegan Ristvedt and Jordan Benjamin added 5 points, each, while Ristvedt had 2 assists.
For the Bulldog defense, Benjamin and Jase Coleman grabbed 5 rebounds and Brayden Miller had 3 rebounds and 1 steal.
Madrid improves to 9-0 overall and 6-0 in the conference. Ogden falls to 2-6 overall and 1-4 in the conference.
Madrid will travel to Ankeny to play Ankeny Christian Academy (4-1) at 7:30 tonight.
Ogden will host Van Meter (3-4 overall, 2-2 conference) at 7:30 Tuesday, Jan. 7.
