BOONE, Iowa—Heart of Iowa Habitat for Humanity will be building a new home in Boone in 2025. Brett and Danielle Schmidt, along with their three children Hunter age 10, Mattilyn age 8 and Lucy Dorsey-Schmidt age 2 have been chosen as this year’s partner family. This will be Heart of Iowa’s 33rd home build since 1996. The build will be on a lot acquired by Heart of Iowa Habitat at 1115 College Street in Boone.
Brett is employed by Redeker’s Furniture in the service department. Danielle is employed by United Community Schools as a substitute teacher. They are eager to provide a solid foundation for their family, while working hard to benefit those in their community.
Brett, Danielle and their friends and family will be required to provide 350 hours of “sweat equity” and to repay a no interest mortgage.
Heart of Iowa Habitat is delighted to partner with the Schmidt family and is thankful for the contributions and support of the Boone, Greene and Guthrie County area.
