Clark sets pool record as Boone tops Grinnell

Isaac Clark won 2 individual events and set a new pool record in the 100 free, leading the Boone boys’ swim team to a 119-51 victory over Grinnell Thursday, January 9, in Boone.

Clark won the 100 free in 47.39. The previous record was set in 1987. He also won the 100 breast in 1:03.66. 

Simon Enabnit also was champion in 2 individual events. 

He won the 100 fly in 100.28 and the 100 back in 1:00.44. 

Other individuals with varsity wins were Carson Muggenberg in the 200 free in 1:59.81, Cooper Santi in the 200 IM in 2:16.49 and Warren Williams in the 500 free in 5:09.77. 

The Toreadors won all 3 relays.  

The 200 medley relay of Clark, Calvin Cook, Williams and Mueggenberg finished in 1:42.80. 

The 200 free relay of Carden Nerem, Mueggenberg, Clark, and Chase Mueller won in 1:32.70. 

The 400 free relay of Santi, Enabnit, Nerem and Williams finished in 3:31.58. 

Boone travels to Marion compete in the Linn-Mar Invitational at noon Saturday, January 11. 

Isaac Clark is seeded No. 1 in the 50 free, No. 4 in the 100 free, and Boone is seeded No. 2 in the 200 free relay.
