Moe wins conference championship for Ogden

Dillon Moe was conference champion for the Ogden boys’ wrestling team at the West Central Activities Conference wrestling meet Saturday, January 18, at Truro. 

Moe placed 1st at 150 pounds. 

He received a bye in the quarterfinal round before pinning Blaise Tallman of Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center in 3:11. 

In the championship round, Moe won in sudden victory over Jackson Berkley of Earlham, 9-6. 

Riley Saunders and Cash Williams were runners-up for the Bulldogs. 

Riley Saunders placed 2nd at 106 pounds. 

In the quarterfinal, he pinned Ruben Harshbarger of Woodward-Granger in :34, and in the semifinal, he won by decision over Nick Bell of Interstate 35, 6-2. 

In the championship round, Saunders was pinned by Dylan Williamson of Van Meter in :45. 

Cash Williams placed 2nd at 215 pounds. 

He received a bye in the quarterfinals and pinned Nathaniel Oliver of Pleasantville in :28 in the semifinals. 

Williams was pinned by Kane Mahler-Moreno of Woodward-Granger in 1:34 in the championship round. 

Four Bulldogs finished in 4th place. 

Ryder Eklund placed 4th at 126 pounds. 

He pinned Morrison Fullmer of Pleasantville in 1:37 in the quarterfinal and was pinned by Dallas Canoyer of Earlham in 1:42 in the semifinal. 

In the consolation rounds, Eklund won by technical fall to Drake Wandersheid of Woodward-Granger, 15-0, before getting pinned by Will Gelner of Interstate 35 in 1:57 in the 3rd place match. 

Landon Alexander placed 4th at 157 pounds. 

In the quarterfinals, he pinned Cody Rodriguez of West Central Valley in 2:49 before getting pinned by Zane Mullenix of Pleasantville in 1:52 in the semifinals . 

In the consolation rounds, Alexander won by major decision over Dylan Frazier of Earlham, 20-9, before getting pinned by Cody Rodriguez of West Central Valley in the 3rd place match. 

Sylus Rude placed 4th at 175 pounds. 

He received bye in the quarterfinals and was pinned in the semifinal in 4:25 by Bode Stanley of Interstate 35. 

In the consolation rounds, Rude received another bye and lost by decision, 5-0, to Colton Nixt of Earlham in the 3rd place match. 

Jakob Crosman placed 4th at 190 pounds. 

He received a bye in the quarterfinal and was pinned by Carter Richter of AC/GC in 3:55 in the semifinals. 

Crosman received another by in the consolation rounds before he lost by techinical fall, 20-4, to Paul Gasparovich of Pleasantville.
