The Boone girls’ wrestling team hosted the Boone Invitational Thursday, January 23, at Boone. 

The Toreadors Lost to Carlisle, 60-13, lost to Gilbert, 39-24, and lost to Ballard, 34-30. 

At 105 pounds, Poppy Malone won twice. 

She pinned Lucia Systma of Carlisle in 2:53 and also pinned Aubrey Shannon of Gilbert in 3:03. 

At 140 pounds, Emersyn Zehner also won twice. 

She beat Sam Dudley of Carlisle by major decision, 15-7, and pinned Sadie Breyfogle of Gilbert in 3:25. 

At 135 pounds, Gracie Vodenik won once. 

She beat Aaliyah Zamora-Garcia of Carlisle by decision, 11-7. 

At 145 pounds, Natalie Thompson won once. 

She pinned Cece Wagner of Gilbert in 3:48. 

Boone heads to Colfax-Mingo for an 18-team tournament at 9 a.m. tomorrow. Ogden is also at the tournament.
