The Madrid girls’ basketball team beat Ogden, 40-23, in West Central Conference play Tuesday in Ogden.
The Tigers jumped out to a 9-5 lead at the end of the 1st quarter and led 23-8 at the half.
Madrid continued to roll and was up 35-17 at the end of the 3rd quarter and won the game, 40-23.
For Tigers, Laura Eagleton led all scorers with 15 points on 5 field goals, 2 3-pointers and 3 free throws.
Lauren Dvorak had a double-double with 12 points, 15 rebounds, 3 blocks and 1 steal.
Jillian Olmstead had 7 points on 2 field goals and 3 free throws.
Audrey Brown had 7 assists while Samantha Springer had 6.
For the Madrid defense, Olmstead had 13 rebounds and 6 steals while Eagleton had 4 rebounds and 4 steals.
For the Bulldogs, Dakota Jones had 11 points on 4 field goals and 3 3-pointers.
Lauren Mathews and Sophia Moorman had 3 points each on a 3-pointer.
Anna Wilson had 3 assists.
For the Ogden defense, Wilson also had 12 rebounds, and Paysen Graden had 6.
Jones had 6 rebounds and 2 steals.
Madrid improves its record to 6-13 overall and 2-11 in the conference.
Ogden falls to 1-18 overall and 0-13 in the conference.
Madrid will play Interstate 35 (4-14 overall, 2-9 conference at 6:30 p.m. Friday, February 7 in Truro.
Ogden will play Glidden-Ralston (4-13) at 6:15 tonight at Glidden.
