Madrid girls lose to I-35 on the road

The Madrid girls’ basketball team lost to Interstate 35, 54-34, Friday, February 7, at Truro. 

Laura Eagleton led the Tigers with 19 points on 4 field goals, 2 3-pointers and 8 free throws. 

Jillian Olmstead had 6 points on 3 field goals, and Lauren Dvorak had 4 points on 1 field goal and 2 free throws. 

Audrey Brown had 5 assists. 

For the defense, Eagleton had 9 rebounds and 1 steal. 

Olmstead had 5 rebounds, while Dvorak had 3 rebounds. 

Madrid fell to 6-14 overall and 2-12 in the West Central Conference while I-35 improved to 5-14 overall and 3-9 in the conference. 

Madrid will host Class 1A, No. 12, Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center (19-1, 12-1) at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the final regular season game of the year.
