Boone boys drop game to Nevada

The Boone boys’ basketball team lost to Nevada, 64-48, Monday, February 17, at Boone in non-conference play. 

Tyson Shivers chalked up a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds. 

He made 7 field goals and 6 free throws and also had 2 steals. 

Braden Brooks had 10 points on 4 field goals and 2 free throws, while Brandon Holm had 5 points on 1 field goal and 3 free throws. 

Wes Van Pelt and Jude Baumgardner had 2 assists each. 

For the defense, Baumgardner had 11 rebounds, 1 block and 1 steal, and Brooks had 3 rebounds and 2 steals. 

The loss dropped the Toreadors to 7-14 overall while the Cubs improved to 18-4 overall. 

Boone will host Webster City (7-13) in the final home game of the season at 7:30 p.m.
