DES MOINES, Iowa—The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship has released the weekly fuel report and the price of regular unleaded gasoline rose 2 cents, averaging $2.98 across Iowa according to AAA.
Crude Oil Summary
- The price of global crude oil fell this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $2.41 per barrel over last week, currently priced at $66.51.
- Brent crude oil fell by $3.28 and is currently priced at $69.60.
- One year ago, WTI crude sold for $79.11 and Brent crude was $85.82.
Motor Fuels
- As of Wednesday, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $2.98 across Iowa according to AAA.
- Prices rose 2 cents from last week’s price and are down 12 cents from a year ago.
- The national average on Wednesday was $3.11, down 2 cents from last week’s price.
- Retail diesel prices in Iowa fell 3 cents this week with a statewide average of $3.41.
- One year ago, diesel prices averaged $3.77 in Iowa.
- The current Iowa diesel price is 25 cents lower than the national average of $3.66.
- Wholesale ethanol held steady and is currently priced at $2.16.
- The current Des Moines Terminal/Rack Prices are $2.12 for U87-E10, $2.32 for Unleaded 87 (clear), $2.32 for ULSD#2, $2.59 for ULSD#1, and $1.86 per gallon for E-70 prices.
Heating Fuels
- Natural gas prices were up $.35 at the Henry Hub reporting site and are currently priced at $4.34 MMbtu.
- Propane prices averaged $1.66 per gallon in Iowa.
- Home heating oil prices had a statewide average of $3.03 per gallon.
