Madrid, Ogden boys open track season indoors

The Madrid and Ogden boys’ track teams opened their seasons at the Dickinson Relays inside the UNI Dome on the campus of the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls on Monday, March 10. 

For Ogden, Brady Van Sickle finished 26th in the 800-meter run in 2:09.31 and 28th in the 400-meter dash in 54.47. 

The 4×200-meter relay of Vandon Roosa, Jude Klith, Brayden Miller and Tyler Lass finished 51st in 1:42.14. 

Owen Bergstrom placed 48th in the shot put with a throw of 42 feet 10.25 inches. 

For Madrid, the 4×200 relay of Jacob Farrell, Jake Sawyer, Loken Velky and Tyler Sonnefelt placed 26th in 1:38.25. 

In the shot put, Preston Wicker placed 60th with a throw of 41 feet, 11.50 inches. 

Sonnefelt placed 64th in the 200-meter dash in 24.39, Kinnick Grimm placed 65th in the 400 in 55.87 and Easton Halverson placed 65th in the long jump with 18 feet, 8 inches.

Both teams will compete at the IATC Indoor meet at the Lied Recreation Athletic Center on the campus of Iowa State University in Ames on Thursday, March 13.
