DES MOINES, Iowa—On Wednesday, March 12th, Rep. Chad Behn (R-Boone) of House District 48 successfully floor-managed his first piece of legislation through the Iowa House.

House File 515 increases supplementary weighting for school districts sharing a school resource officer from two to four pupils. The legislation seeks to support school districts in improving their operational capabilities through shared resources and provide additional funding to enhance student opportunities.

“This bill creates the ability for districts to share and addresses the needs of individual districts while keeping the students safe,” said Behn in his opening comments on the House Floor. 

HF 515 passed unanimously through the Iowa House with a vote of 95-0.
