BOONE, Iowa—Mandated Public Hearings on Proposed Tax Levy Rates for the next fiscal year will begin this week and the Boone, Madrid and Ogden School District’s will be first with hearings on Monday. For the Boone School District the hearing will be at 5:00 p.m. in the Board Room at Boone High School, Madrid School District will hold their hearing at 5:30 p.m. in the Administrative Center, while the Ogden School District will hold their hearing at 5:30 p.m. in the Middle School/High School Library.
Tuesday, the Madrid City Council will hold their required hearing at 6:00 p.m. at the Madrid City Hall.
Wednesday, the Boone County Board of Supervisors have their required hearing at 8:00 a.m. in the Board Room at the Boone County Courthouse.
Thursday evening, the United School Board has their hearing scheduled for 6:00 p.m. in the Library.
The Boone City Council has scheduled their hearing for 5:00 p.m. on April 7th in the Council Chambers at Boone City Hall. The Ogden City Council has their hearing scheduled for 5:30 p.m. April 8th at the Ogden City Hall.
Later in April a second round of Public Hearings on budgets for the new fiscal year will be held and many will be holding hearings on budget amendments for the current fiscal year. The Public Hearings on budgets are generally held during regular meetings. State Law requires that the Public Hearings on the Levy Rate be held in a separate meeting.
