BOONE, Iowa—State Auditor Rob Sand paid a visit to the Boone County Courthouse Friday afternoon, specifically to present to Boone County a P.I.E. Award. P.I.E. stands for Public Innovations and Efficiencies, a program that Sand started after he was elected Auditor for the State. It recognizes Iowa’s counties, cities and school districts that implement innovative ways to save tax payer money. Boone County has participated in the past through different offices, including the Sheriff’s Department, Planning and Development, and others.
