DES MOINES, Iowa—The National Weather Service Office in Des Moines has updated expectations for possible severe weather on Thursday. Scattered severe thunderstorms (level 2 of 5) are possible with large hail being the primary threat. Much of the state could see activity but primarily Northern Iowa is expected to see activity. The main risk for severe weather will be after 4:00 p.m. Thursday.
