The Boone girls’ tennis team improved its overall record to 8-2 with a victory at Webster City, 8-1, Monday, April 21.
“It was a nice road win over a gritty Webster City team that made some nice adjustments and battled with us to the end,” said head coach Shawn Latimer.
No. 2 Livi Schneider won 6-0, 6-1, No. 5 Ally Thompson won 6-3, 6-3 and No. 6 Claire Hardinger won 6-0, 6-2.
No. 1 Kaylee Kuehl won in third-set tiebreaker, 6-0, 2-6, 1-0 (4) as did No. 3 Shannon Jenkins, 6-4, 1-6, 1-0 (3).
In doubles, No. 1 Kuehl and Schneider won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-0, as did No. 3 Juliana Lutz and Olivia Conlin, 6-1, 6-2,
No. 2 Jenkins and Hardinger won their doubles match in third-set tiebreaker, 6-0, 4-6, 1-0 (8).
The girls will travel to Fort Dodge, Monday, April 28.
