DES MOINES, Iowa—The National Weather Service Office in Des Moines is looking ahead to possible strong to severe storms Monday. Early weather models currently have a 30% Risk (Level 3 out of 5) of Strong to Severe Thunderstorms, Monday, April 28th, 2025. All modes of severe weather appear possible – large hail, damaging thunderstorm winds and tornadoes. The risk level and areal coverage may still yet change over the next 3 days. All of Central Iowa could be affected mainly Monday afternoon and evening.
