BOONE, Iowa—The Boone City Council voted Saturday to extend and offer for the Boone City Administrator position to one of the three candidates interviewed. The three finalist were Ondrea Elmquist, the current Assistant City Administrator/Clerk for Boone, James Freneau, former City Manager in Burlington and most recently the owner of JAF Services, Inc., and Donovan Olson, former City Administrator for Ogden and currently Regional Director, Iowa State University Extension-Story County.
The City Council members, City Department Heads and invited outside panelists participated in interviews at Boone City Hall Saturday morning. The outside panelist included Tom Blanford, Chad Houston, Mikaela Kienitz, Erich Kretzinger, and Julie Trepa.
The Council’s offer seeks a response by Monday. Mayor Eli Stines has written that formal action on a contract will take place at the Council’s May 5th meeting.
