BOONE, Iowa—Last week saw improvement in drought conditions across the state. Last week also saw measurable rainfall, at least locally for several consecutive days. This week’s drought monitor information is expected to show more improvement. Last week, locally, Boone County was 90% Abnormally Dry and 10% Drought Free in the Northeast corner of the county. Story County was 90% Drought Fee and 10% Abnormally Dry in the Southwest corner of the county. To the north, Hamilton County was two-thirds Drought Free with the western one-third of the county Abnormally Dry.
