33rd Annual Iowa Municipal Band Festival July 12th in Boone

BOONE, Iowa—The Boone Municipal Band is proud to host the 33rd annual Iowa Municipal Band Festival on Saturday, July 12, at Herman Park Pavilion.  This free event brings together community bands from across the Midwest for a full day of music and camaraderie and is held the second Saturday in July, rain or shine. 

2025 Festival Schedule 

Main Stage Performances: 

  • 10:00 a.m. – Ames Municipal Band (32nd appearance) 
  • 11:00 a.m. – Collins Concert Band, Cedar Rapids (4th appearance) 
  • 12:00 p.m. – Iowa Military Veterans Band (6th appearance) 
  • 1:00 p.m. – Glenwood Community Band (1st appearance) 
  • 2:00 p.m. – Zumbrota (MN) Community Band (4th appearance) 
  • 3:00 p.m. – Greater Waverly Municipal Band (2nd appearance) 
  • 4:00 p.m. – New Jolly Germans Band, Des Moines (2nd appearance) 
  • 5:00 p.m. – Ballard Community Band, Huxley (16th appearance) 
  • 6:00 p.m. – Boone Municipal Band (33rd appearance) 

Food Court Stage Performances: 

  • 10:45 & 11:45 a.m. – Betrunken Messing, Des Moines 
  • 12:45, 1:45, 2:45 & 3:45 p.m. – Boone Jazz Trio 

A food court will offer sandwiches, pies, ice cream and drinks.  Seating is available at bleachers or picnic tables or bring your own lawn chair.  A shuttle service will be available to assist with transportation from parking areas to the pavilion. 

Whether you’re a longtime attendee or a first-time visitor, this is a day you won’t want to miss!
