AMES, Iowa—The Iowa Department of Transportation have announced that US Highway 30 in Greene County, between Jefferson and Grand Junction has now re-opened. The stretch of road was closed down about 10:00 AM Monday, following the collision between two-semi’s. One was hauling more than 8,000 gallons in fuel and the second was pulling a livestock trailer. The collision did involve a third vehicle, a pickup truck. The accident did cause a substantial fire. Authorities have said two-people were transported to the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson. US Highway 30 was closed until about 3:00 PM Monday to allow fire fighters to deal with burning fuel and debris.
