BOONE, iowa—The Boone County Board of Supervisors voted today to deny two-requests made by the Boone County Historical Society. The first request was to release $4,500 the county originally allocated to the Historical Society for the current fiscal year. The funds were originally held pending a resolution between the Historical Society and a group of residents that sought to acquire and take steps to maintain the Mamie Doud Eisenhower Birthplace. The Supervisors voted unanimously to deny the request.
The Board also voted unanimously to deny a request for an additional contribution of $2,500 to be directed toward a project to mitigate the mold issue at the Mamie Doud Eisenhower Birthplace.
