BOONE, Iowa—A formal ground breaking ceremony was held Thursday afternoon, April 12th for a new bank building to be constructed on Hawkeye Drive on the south side of Boone. United Bank of Iowa is headquartered in Ida Grove but has branch offices in more than two dozen locations. The Boone branch is the most recent addition in their expansion. President Owen Bolte, on hand for the ground breaking said he was asked by Boone was selected. He said, Boone is a growing community and they want to be a part of that growth. He also said there are good financial institutions in Boone and they think that by expanding in to Boone and Boone County, everyone will benefit.
United Bank began operations in Boone late in 2017 and have been operating out of a temporary structure. The bank will continue to be in operation during the construction of their new building.
