BOONE, Iowa—There are several construction projects that are affecting the normal traffic routine for a number of residents.  This week, Godberson-Smith, the contractor for the paving of Quartz Avenue from 190th Street or County Road E-26 to near the Industrial Park Road, began working on that project.  Detours directing traffic to AB Salvage, KemX Global and Technochem International are in Place.

Boone Public Works is hoping to complete work on South Story Street.  Traffic continues to be routed through that construction zone.  Manatt’s Incorporated began preparing for the resurfacing of Frances Mason Drive, referred to by many as the McHose Park Road.  The park road was closed from the South Entrance to Doran Drive.  Additional work is expected prior to the resurfacing on other parts of the road in McHose Park.  The public is encouraged to use caution where work is being done.

Additional utility work is underway this week, now closing 5 Mile Drive between South Linn Street and South Delaware Street.  This closure will be from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily through Friday.  This road is the hard surfaced road on the north side of the Boone Fareway Store.
