BOONE, Iowa—The Boone A&M FFA Chapter Awards Banquet was held on Friday May 11, 2018 at Boone High School. Nearly 150 FFA members, families, and supporters where in attendance for the meal and awards program. This year’s theme “I Can. We Will” highlighted the accomplishments of FFA members over the past year.
Many hardworking Career Development Event participants were recognized for competing at the Sub-District, District, and State levels. FFA Greenhand and Chapter Degrees were awarded to 32 students with Star Awards presented to the following: Star Greenhand – Gage Morain, Star Chapter Member – Brennan Lynch. The Outstanding Leadership Award was presented to senior member Jackson Zehr. The Dekalb Ag Accomplishment Award was presented to: Colton Anderson, Logan Halsrud, and Jacob Stern. Additionally, the Most Active Member Award was a tie between Jacob Stern and Megan Osborn.
The evening concluded with installation of the 2018-2019 Chapter Officer team. The elected officers are: Megan Osborn – President, Brennan Lynch – Senior Vice President, Gage Morain – Junior Vice President, McKayla Dozier – Secretary, Joe Zehr – Treasurer, ShyAnne Brogden – Reporter, and Madison Sturtz – Sentinel. The Boone A&M FFA Chapter would like to thank the Boone County Cattlemen for providing the steaks for the meal and the United Boone FFA Alumni for preparing the meal.
The Boone A&M FFA Chapter is an organization for agricultural science students consisting of over 100 students from Boone and Ogden.
