DES MOINES, Iowa—A Madrid woman was recently charged with Fraudulent Submissions a Class D Felony, following an insurance fraud investigation by the Iowa Insurance Division’s Fraud Bureau. 48 year old Joy Marie Heldt was charged following an investigation that began in March 2018 according to the release from the Iowa Insurance Division. Officials have alleged that Heldt engaged in submitting a fraudulent application for insurance coverage to an insurer. The report says that the Iowa Insurance Division revoked Heldt’s insurance producer license in March.
Heldt was arrested last week and was booked into the Polk County Jail. The Iowa Insurance Division said they had no additional information to provide at this time. The agency noted that a criminal charge is merely an accusation and a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
