OGDEN, Iowa—“Wings of Refuge” is an Iowa based opportunity for victims of human trafficking. Pastor Rick Summerhays of Water’s Edge Church in Ogden says it’s a ministry that needs support to help victims recover, including those in central Iowa.
Summerhays and Ray Hansen have been inviting other congregations to partner with Water’s Edge in support of “Wings of Refuge”. They have planned a golf outing called Swing for Freedom with proceeds directed to “Wings of Refuge”. Summerhays said the cost of assisting even one victim is high. The golf outing seems to be a good way to support the work of the ministry.
Swing for Freedom a benefit for “Wings of Refuge” will be Monday, June 25th at Honey Creek Golf Course, south of Boone. The cost is $125 per golfer and $250 per team. Sign in will be at 8:00 a.m. with a Shot Gun start at 9:30 a.m. Proceeds will help support the efforts of “Wings of Refuge” providing assistance to victims of human trafficking.
