DMACC Peddle Car Project to Support Operation Middle Ground

Posted on 25 July 2018 by KWBG

ANKENY, Iowa—Jane Hargens of Johnston, founder and president of Operation Middle Ground, recently accepted a donation from Des Moines Area Community College’s (DMACC’s) Graphic Design Department. With collaborative efforts among DMACC’s Graphic Design Department and Auto Collision Department, a patriotic peddle car was completed. DMACC Graphic Design student Michael Kaut of Pleasant Hill painted the car and the Auto Collision Department put it back together to make it a working peddle car.  The car will be used at a later date as an auction item, with proceeds going to Operation Middle Ground.

Operation Middle Ground is a non-profit organization, which provides guidance to veterans and family members who are coping with Post-Traumatic Stress disorder and suicide by veterans. The main goal of Operation Middle Ground is to help veterans find a safe middle ground.
