BOONE, Iowa—The Iowa League of Cities represents over 800 cities across the state, providing a unified voice in both state and national debates and providing access to research and training for local city officials. The League of Cities also has a Legislative Policy Committee, made up of 27 members that meet during the year and using feedback League members, create policy positions for upcoming state and federal legislative sessions.
Current Boone City Council member, Greg Piklapp has been appointed to service on that Legislative Policy Committee. Piklapp said, “It is an honor to be asked to serve on this important committee. I look forward to working with local city leaders from across the state on creating new public policies while also helping educate state and federal legislators on the critical needs of Boone”.
Piklapp is now in his 3rd term on the Boone City Council. He is Chairman of the City Council’s Economic Development Committee and also serves on the Council’s Policy & Administration Committee. Piklapp also serves on several other community boards and projects.
