The Boone County Chamber of Commerce hosted the 110th gathering of the Chamber membership on Tuesday at the Central Iowa Expo Admin Building. Outgoing President Michelle Kelly called the meeting to order. Treasurer Doug Lau reported that the Chamber’s financials were in good shape, due to increased event sponsorships and reduced Pufferbilly Days expenses.
After presenting Kelly with a thank you plaque, incoming President Bill Gephart then took over the meeting to present annual awards.
Andy Bartlett of Ledges State Park was named as the Fenner H. Stevenson Volunteer of the Year. Pat and Carol Clemons of Cedar Pointe Golf Course received the Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Boone Veterinary Hospital accepted the Business/Industry of the Year plaque.
Iowa Economic Development Authority downtown specialist Jim Thompson was the keynote speaker.
