The Boone Fire Department responded to reports of a fire at 709 Keeler in downtown Boone shortly after 6am Sunday. The building’s tenant used a fire extinguisher to keep the fire from spreading in the residence. Firefighters were called back to put out a fire in the cockloft (attic). No injuries reported, but the building must remain unoccupied until repairs can be made. (Photo courtesy of BFD)
