BOONE, Iowa—The Boone Schools have been put in a lock down Thursday afternoon. The release from district administration was distributed a short while ago:
Due to a safety issue in the community involving police, as a precautionary measure, the schools have gone into lockdown. No one may leave or enter the buildings until further notice. No students are in danger and no incidences happened at the school. This is a safety measure so students are not out in the community until we are sure all is safe.
As the district is on lockdown, we ask that no parents come to the buildings until notified of the all clear and the lockdown has been lifted. We will keep all students safe and in school until the lockdown is lifted. No students will be released until the lockdown is lifted.
