DES MOINES, Iowa—U.S Senator Joni Ernst late last week announced that former South Carolina Governor and UN Ambassador Nikki Haley will be the featured guest speaker at her re-election campaign kickoff during her 5th Annual Roast and Ride. The Roast and Ride will be held Saturday, June 15th at the Central Iowa Expo in Boone. Ernst said additional speakers will be Governor Kim Reynolds and U.S Senator Charles Grassley. Ernst has already said she will seek re-election, but will make the official announcement during the Roast and Ride.
The Roast and Ride begins with a motorcycle ride honoring veterans and patriots. Every year, Ernst has earmarked proceeds for the event to benefit various non-profit organizations that provide a benefit to veterans. This year’s non-profit organization will be Retrieving Freedom Inc., an Iowa based that focuses on training service dogs for veterans and children with autism.
The Ride will begin the morning of June 15th at Big Barn Harley Davidson in Des Moines and will end at the Central Iowa Expo site. The Roast follows at the Central Iowa Expo site east of Boone. Information on the Roast and Ride, tickets, route and more can be found at RoastandRide.com.
