Planned Street Repair Project Slated to Begin This Week

Posted on 10 June 2019 by KWBG

BOONE, Iowa—Boone Public works had several projects that were budgeted to be completed during the current fiscal year and the final one is scheduled to start this week.  Projects during this fiscal year included resurfacing the road through McHose Park, a stretch of Industrial Park Road, a portion of Park Avenue, all completed in the last calendar year.  The one that didn’t get done was the Greene Street approach to 22nd Street, by the Boone County shed on the north side of the city.  The bids received last summer were above estimates so the project was delayed and rebid over the winter for completion this calendar year.

Public works has announced that Greene Street, between 21st and 22nd Streets will be closed to through traffic beginning Tuesday morning at 6:00 a.m. for about two-weeks, until 6:00 p.m. on June 23rd, weather permitting.  Drivers should plan accordingly to avoid the construction in the area of Greene Street and 22nd Street.
