DES MOINES, Iowa—The DMACC Board of Trustees took time during this week’s board meeting to recognize accomplishments associated with the very successful DMACC Women’s Softball program.
DMACC Softball Head Coach Bob Ligouri (center) is recognized by Joe Pugel, Chair of the DMACC Board of Directors (left), and Rob Denson, DMACC President, during the June 10 meeting of the DMACC Board of Directors. Ligouri earned his 1,000th career win this season, with 325 of those victories coming during his eight seasons at DMACC. He was also named the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XI Coach of the Year.

Among her many honors, Ruther is a two-time National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II First Team All-American and four-time member of the All-Region Academic Team. In 2019, Ruther was also named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Female Student-Athlete of the Year, an award that recognizes exemplary student-athletes who perform in the classroom, in the community and on the field of play. Ruther maintained a 3.79 cumulative GPA during in her two years at DMACC and will be attending the University of Iowa this Fall, where she will major in finance and play for the Hawkeye Softball team.
