Isley Named DMACC’S Vice President of Academic Affairs

KWBG 07/17/19

ANKENY, Iowa—MD Isley has been named DMACC’s new Vice President of Academic Affairs.  He had been the Academic Dean of Business, Management and Information Technology.

Isley replaces Scott Ocken, a long-time DMACC administrator who is retiring at the end of December.

“I take these responsibilities very seriously and will do my absolute best to set and drive our academic focus while supporting the mission of DMACC,” said Isley. “I’m quite humbled by this opportunity to support our incredible faculty and serve all DMACC students.”

In his new capacity, Isley will serve as the chief academic officer for the College. In addition, he will provide leadership to and oversight of the academic services for all campuses, coordinate academic and faculty responsibilities with Provosts and Deans and serve on the President’s Cabinet and Executive Council.

Isley has served as Academic Dean of Business, Management and Information Technology for the past six years.  Prior to that, he was the Executive Director/CEO of Bravo Greater Des Moines for five years.  He was also the Interim President/CEO of Living History Farms in Urbandale.

The majority of his career has been in higher education.  He has been the Economic Development Specialist at Maricopa Community Colleges Center for Workforce Development in Tempe, Arizona and the Executive Director of the Des Moines Higher Education Collaborative.  Early in his career, he was also a professor of Business, Marketing and Management at North Dakota State College of Science.

Isley has also had prior experience at DMACC.  He was a Training Consultant for DMACC Business Resources, the Founding Director for the DMACC West Lakes Center for Professional Development and the Associate Dean for the DMACC West Campus.

Isley earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration in 1987 from Minot State University and a Master of Science degree in Career and Technical Education in 1991 from the University of North Dakota.
