BOONE, Iowa—An 83-year old Boone woman has died as a result of injuries sustained in a two-vehicle accident that occurred Wednesday evening on U.S. Highway 30, between University and South Dakota interchanges in Story County.  A report from the Iowa State Patrol indicated that Nancy C. Dean was traveling west when her vehicle came to a near complete stop in the lane of travel.  A second west bound vehicle, operated by 22-year old Taylor N. McIntire of Boone was unable to avoid Dean’s vehicle, striking it and forcing Dean into the north ditch while McIntire’s vehicle ended up in the median.

Both drivers were transported to Mary Greeley Medical Center.  Dean did not survive her injuries.  McIntire was treated by minor injuries.

According to the report, the accident remains under investigation.
